Tecnova Electronics is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer who is responsible for driving cost savings, developing and carrying out procurement strategies, and effectively manage supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
Reviewing multilevel BOMs, customer drawings and data packages for requirements.
Quote BOM’s utilizing Quotefx and by direct contact with Suppliers.
Downloading, compiling quote data, performing quote analysis and selecting “winners”.
Generates and monitors standard purchase orders and blanket purchase orders for assigned programs.
Utilizes strategic purchasing practices to ensure both cost and material flow are optimized.
Purchase order maintenance and reschedules
Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best price, quality and service arrangements.
Develops and recommends new supply sources when required and establishes account/credit and terms.
Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Performs cost analysis with a thorough understanding of cost factors.
Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and department metrics.
Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper material arrival.
Works with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and material.
Works with Master Scheduler and Vendors to determine recovery plans when required.
Complies with all regulations, quality procedures and guidelines.
Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics/conflict of interest and information disclosure.
Completes special projects and compiles special reports as required.
Provides project status updates and supports Management as needed.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Requires minimum of 5 years’ experience as buyer in an electronics manufacturing environment
Quoting experience required
Current APICS or ISM Certification a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, with heavy emphasis on Excel required
Proficient in MRP/ERP systems required
Ability to read a multilevel BOM, drawings, and specifications, preferred
Familiarity with outside processing a plus
Understanding of PPAP and firm fixed planning a plus
