Career Description

Tecnova is seeking an embedded firmware engineer to join our select team of professionals who are ready to contribute their expertise and passion to creating cutting-edge technologies. The Embedded Firmware Engineer will be an experienced professional with proven expertise in concepting, designing, documenting, and implementing firmware for electronic products used in a variety of industries. 

Proven Technical Aptitude

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development life-cycle, processes, and procedures
• Proven proficiency in the C programming language and multiple development tools, such as IAR
• Experience developing well-structured applications in C for various families of microprocessors such as ST Microelectronics ARM and Microchip PIC
• Experience developing I2C and SPI drivers for A/Ds, D/As, and other peripheral ICs
• Experience developing embedded device networks such as USB, CAN, Ethernet and Modbus
• Experience using simple embedded operating systems, such as FreeRTOS
• Capable of reading schematic diagrams
• Experience in project estimating, determining specifications, designing architecture, and designing, coding, debugging, and maintaining firmware applications

• Ability to fulfill requests on several concurrent projects on tight schedules
• Proficiency at quickly analyzing and solving problems
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to pull from past work experiences to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing direction

Communications

• Strong teamwork skills and a quality work ethic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to gather and maintain client requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of related experience
