    Position

    • Buyer II / Material Quoter - Supply Chain

    Summary Statement

    • Responsible for driving cost savings, developing and carrying out procurement strategies, and effectively manage supplier relationships.

    Reporting Relationship

    • Reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager

    Contacts

    • Works closely with all departments

    Other  (Travel, working conditions, unusual work schedules, etc.)

    • May require occasional travel (mostly local)
    • The majority of the time will be spent in a modern office/factory with a controlled temperature.
    • Work day consists of a 40 – 45 work week, with extra time as needed (Exempt position)

    Education / Experience / Knowledge / Skills Required

    • Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
    • Requires minimum of 5 years’ experience as buyer in an electronics manufacturing environment
    • Some quoting experience required
    • Current APICS or ISM Certification a plus
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, with heavy emphasis on Excel required
    • Proficient in MRP/ERP systems required
    • Ability to read a multilevel BOM, drawings, and specifications, preferred
    • Familiarity with outside processing a plus
    • Understanding of PPAP and firm fixed planning a plus
    • Excellent organizational skills, problem solving techniques, and accuracy are essential
    • Excellent math and deductive skills key

    Buyer II

    • Generates and monitors standard purchase orders and blanket purchase orders for assigned programs
    • Utilizes strategic purchasing practices to ensure both cost and material flow are optimized
    • Purchase order maintenance and reschedules
    • Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best price, quality and service arrangements
    • Develops and recommends new supply sources when required and establishes account/credit and terms
    • Examines bids and recommends awards
    • Establishes account/credit and terms
    • Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
    • Performs cost analysis with a thorough understanding of cost factors
    • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and department metrics
    • Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper material arrival
    • Works with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and material
    • Works with Master Scheduler and Vendors to determine recovery plans when required
    • Complies with all regulations, quality procedures and guidelines
    • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics/conflict of interest and information disclosure
    • Completes special projects and compiles special reports as required
    • Provides project status updates and supports Management as needed
    • Participates in daily meetings
    • Additional duties as required

    Materials Quoter

    This position will train to back-up the full time Materials Quoter

    • Reviewing multilevel BOMs, customer drawings and data packages for requirements
    • Quote BOM’s utilizing Quotefx, and by direct contact with Suppliers
    • Downloading, compiling quote data, performing quote analysis and selecting “winners”
    • Rolling up the material quote and providing to sales department
    • Sourcing new suppliers
