Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Tecnova is looking for a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to be responsible for the concept, design, documentation, and implementation of electronic products used in various industries including automotive, industrial controls, embedded applications, and medical instruments. This individual must be able to take project ownership, complete tasks on schedule and on budget, while building a relationship with our customers.

Essential Functions

• Lead new product development projects.
• Direct the technical efforts of supporting project team members.
• Lead the requirement gathering process with customers.
• Evaluate, select, and apply appropriate electronic technology and components.
• Design and develop new digital, analog, FPGA, and processor based electronic circuits.
• Design to meet reliability, testability, manufacturability, and material cost guidelines.
• Specify appropriate constraints for circuit board layout and packaging.
• Verify functional performance of prototype hardware under all specified operating conditions.
• Document design, including principles of operation and analysis.
• Document functional test requirements.
• Support product life cycle.:

Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• 10 years design experience in a position where direct responsibility for leadership and design, qualification, and production release of high technology analog, digital, and processor-based products has been demonstrated.
• 2.4GHz ISM band (802.15.4, ZigBee) design experience is a plus.
• High level of proficiency with analog and digital circuit simulation concepts and tools.
• High level of proficiency in testing and troubleshooting of electronic hardware.
• Detailed knowledge of current electronic component and packaging technology.
• Experience designing with Freescale, Microchip, NXP, or Atmel microprocessors.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within and among teams, and to work independently.

• Relocation costs negotiable.
• Some travel may be required.

• Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
• Knowledge of current electronic component and packaging technology.
• Experience designing with microprocessors.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within and among teams, and independently.
